• list the major themes of the play
The Response must:
• address the author’s intention in writing the play
• state the student’s opinion on how effective the play is in exploring the author’s intention and
the themes of the play
• address the real-world implications of the play: what makes this play necessary to perform?
• address the student’s imagination about how the play might exist in performance
• address the student’s aesthetic values: comment on what makes this play beautiful,
entertaining, or fun
